Managing the IT Project Portfolio

This year I decided to use a different project prioritization methodology. After searching the web I came across Managing the IT Project Portfolio: A Project Ranking Methodology developed by the project management office of Georgia State University.

The system scores projects based on ten categories: strategic goal, required, flexibility, need for the system, staff or system reduction, customer base, increase effectiveness, current state, cost, and operational cost.

Here is one of the categories as an example:Increase EffectivenessI’ll cover the projects we are considering in a future post.
